Trilobe Shape Catalyst Carrier
Shape-optimized carrier that lowers pressure drop by 30%
Trilobe extruded alumina carriers that boost surface area and reduce diffusion resistance versus cylindrical pellets.
Product Overview
Trilobe catalyst carriers use a clover-shaped cross-section that increases external surface area by 30-50% compared with cylindrical extrudates of equivalent diameter. The increased geometric surface improves intraparticle diffusion, reaction rate and catalyst utilization, while the shape reduces pressure drop across the bed.
Produced by extrusion of high-purity alumina, trilobe carriers are the preferred support for modern hydrodesulfurization (HDS), hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) and hydrotreating catalysts where diffusion limitations control performance.
